State and Local Public Policies in the United States is an ongoing research project and data compendium. On this website you can download spreadsheets containing data on policies covering everything from taxes and government spending to abortion to campaign finance, more than 200 different policies in all, for all 50 states. The data are now available as of December 31, 2000, December 31, 2006, December 31, 2008, and December 31, 2010 (fiscal data back to 1957), allowing researchers to begin to analyze the determinants of policy change across the states on a wide range of variables.
